During my weekly grocery shopping outing, I was shocked at some of the prices compared to those of just a few months ago. So I was happy to see a wonderfully nutritious produce item for only $2.00. And it wasn’t even marked down!
I had never seen kale packaged up by Arte. I also rarely buy kale partially because I don’t think of it when I shop and partially because when I do notice it, it’s expensive. But it is a green that I should buy more often simply because of its nutritional benefits.
Kale is high in fiber, potassium, calcium, and iron. According to https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/10-proven-benefits-of-kale, “Kale is a nutritious food rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin K, and beta-carotene. It also contains nutrients that can support eye health, weight management, heart health, and more.
Loaded with important micronutrients and antioxidants, kale is one of the most nutritious leafy greens available.”
I should have grabbed another bag. Hopefully it will be available again during my next visit to No Frills.
