Japan has had a bad rap for being a vegan nightmare. I remember past trips to the northern cities in Hokkaido pre-COVID era were quite challenging too. I recall days where we resorted to eating convenience store food.

But this trip to Tokyo has shown us veganism is becoming more widespread. Even omni restaurants, like this one in Shinjuku, have massive plant based sections.
It’s a shame we didn’t get to try all the vegan food #tokyo had too offer! But we’ll definitely be back!
