Now that these Daiya Mozza Shreds are made with oat cream, I think that cheese melts better than it did with the old recipe. I think the taste is relatively unchanged from the old recipe, which is good; it still tastes like mozzarella as it should.
I bought this package of Daiya Mozza Shreds at No Frills. I think the price was around $5.49 which I think was a sale price.
I used the cheese on pizza and occasionally I’ve sprinkled it on top of pasta. The last two photos in this post show the cheese’s before and after appearance on the pizzas. You can see how the cheese has melted in the last photo after being in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Each serving (1/4 cup) provides 10% of your day’s recommended calcium intake. The saturated fat content is high, but I don’t think it’s overall too bad for you (but I’m not a doctor 😜).
I will definitely be buying this cheese again.
