Hong Kong Chow Mei Fun no egg at Timmy's Wokkootso's Review (Nov 17, 2024)

This dish is basically vegetable mei fun and was good, though the noodles were a little soft and I had hoped for more vegetables. I actually wanted the Singapore version, so curry, but a miscommunication on my part. The young cashier was very helpful though and initially told me I’d likely need to get steamed vegetables for vegan, as all of the brown sauces contain oyster sauce. There is a white sauce that’s garlicky and vegan that he offered to substitute for brown sauce and make a vegan tofu and vegetables. I appreciated his help as I had 20 questions and hadn’t been here since going vegan nearly 15 years ago.
At $11.95, the price was okay, but I’m probably spoiled by Lucky Bamboo in Monroe, which has the best vegan Singapore noodles and the container is always stuffed full with plenty of vegetables but the flavor is always the best. I’ll give Timmy’s another try though if in the area, as they’re a nice family-owned place with cousins and uncles all working there.
