Vegan Yachae Bibimbap at Korean BBQ House- Canary Wharf — alisonsstar's Review (Aug 8, 2024)

🇰🇷 This was the biggest surprise of the summer. I went into this #korean #bbq place with an omni friend expecting there would be nothing for me only to find they have a large two page full vegan menu!! 😮 They also had green #vegan 🌱signs on their windows! How cool is that?! This is part of a chain of Korean restaurants but those others have the word vegan in their name making it easier to know. #firstdishreview

I can’t resist #bibimbap in a sizzling hot stone bowl filled with #rice 🍚and steamed veggies like #carrot 🥕and #mushroom. 🍄‍🟫It strangely had chopped #lettuce 🥬on top which I haven’t seen before in bibimbap. 🤔 #spinach 🌿yes but lettuce no. I added crispy #tofu 🫛for £2. They brought a bottle of #gochujang 🌶️sauce for you to add as much or little as you like which is cool. You mix everything up and it sizzles in the hot stone bowl and gets more and more crispy crunchy. Yum! 😋See last picture. Normally I like lots of the #sweettooth friendly sauce which also has a #spicy kick. I need to avoid spicy things at the minute though sadly. 😕 Anyway it’s a bit tricky to rate this then as normally I’d have eaten it with lots of sauce. It’s not quite as enjoyable with only a little but was very nice.

I’d be curious to try more of their offerings and they also have a couple of Japanese 🇯🇵dishes like yakisoba. This is a great option for vegan Korean on Canary Wharf.
