I bought a couple squeeze bottles of French’s Classic Yellow Prepared Mustard for $0.50 each at Grocery Outlet last year. Of the three standard condiments that are put on hamburgers and hotdogs (ketchup, mustard, relish), I’d rank mustard as my least favourite. I love how it tastes when combined with other condiments and popular toppings (tomatoes, pickles, onions), but I’d never have it as the sole topping. I rarely use it in recipes.

French’s mustard is made with Canadian grown mustard seeds, but the final mustard product is made in the USA and imported into Canada.

Nutritionally, mustard is harmless. There’s no real nutritional benefit, nor is it ‘bad’ for you. It’s fat-free and calorie-less.

I’m not loyal to any particular brand of mustard; I consider it a generic product. Cost is the influencing factor for me. So I’d buy French’s mustard again if it’s cheaper than the house brand.
