I picked up this package of Violife Mature Cheddar Style Slices at No Frills. I think the price was around $5 (on sale, which I thought was high). Obviously, the regular price is even higher (at least $5.99). Anyways, I was craving cheese slices, so the timing was good.
I missed putting a slice of (plant-based / vegan) cheese in a sandwich, on a burger or with a hotdog. It had been a long time! Just like another type of Violife cheese slices I recently bought, this cheese also melts very nicely, but I unfortunately had forgotten to t asked a photo. Please refer to the last photo. As for the taste, it nicely mimics its dairy equivalent. It’s definitely delicious and adds to taste and texture of sandwiches.
There isn’t anything nutritious about this cheese; there’s no protein, calcium, iron, fibre, etc. It is high in saturated fat.
I would get this again, but probably not very often because of its lack of value and nutrition.
