The Works Mac & Cheese at Burrowing Owl — Sarah's Review (May 20, 2024)

This was SPICY!!! 🌶️🥵 and like the “kitchen sink” of mac & cheese bowls. This dish was 3 of their flavors in 1… their 1️⃣ House Mac (elbows & queso), 2️⃣ Spicy Mac (jalapeño sauce, green chili, jalapeños) and 3️⃣ Sloppy Mac (sloppy joe mix, tomatoes, onion) all in one bowl. There are A LOT of flavors going on, mostly spice, but it somehow worked! The tomatoes cut the heat a bit, and I really enjoyed the meaty sloppy joe mix on top.

I think next time I’d try the Sloppy Mac so I could get more of a similar flavor throughout the whole bowl instead of a blend of everything. I’m giving this 4/5 stars because while it was creative and flavorful, it was much too spicy for me. And I like spice so that’s saying something!
