Review of Lotus Root Sweet Sour & Spicy - YuMei by beckyyy

I love lotus root but am not the best at making it tasty myself (though I conquered eggplant so perhaps lotus root is next?). I had never had lotus root in this style before and really didn’t know what to expect.

The lotus root was vacuum sealed in small pouches with a chili 5 spice oil. It had a softer texture without the crisp but wasn’t mushy either. It is spicy but not overwhelming. Flavorful and tasty and oddly addictive. Really the only downsides for me is that they were a bit oily for my preference and there is a lot of packaging. Really fun to try something new.

Anyone have a fave lotus root recipe?!
