This is a pretty good competition to the Beyond Burger. It cooks a little quicker and doesn’t seem like it lets out a lot of juice as it’s cooking. The meaty flavor and decent texture of these burgers make them even worthwhile to get your carnivore eating friends and family to try.
I enjoyed these burgers with some salad and homemade French dressing, and the other I had plain/with some ketchup. They were really good.
Another thing I found interesting is this ‘soy leghemoglobin’ that’s listed in the ingredients. I learned something new, and am glad Impossible devoted a whole page to discussing it. https://faq.impossiblefoods.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019100553-What-is-soy-leghemoglobin-or-heme
One (113g) patty has 240 calories from 14g of fat (8g of saturated fat from coconut and sunflower), 9g of carbs and 19g of protein. It also provides 25% of the US RDA of iron, 2530% of thiamin, 30% of riboflavin, 35% of niacin, 25% of vitamin B6, 30% of folate, 130% of vitamin B12 and 50% of zinc.
I bought this package of two patties from ShopRite back in May of ‘22 with a coupon for $4.99. Currently you can find it there for the same price ($5.99), $6.49 at Stop & Shop, and at Target for $5.99 (they also offer a 20% off coupon until Feb 24).
