Review of Peanut Butter - Liezel’s by anthonyp

Misleading packaging / undisclosed ingredients. I painstakingly chose this brand from the 8 on offer at one of the biggest supermarkets I found Philippines (in Tagbilaran, Bohol) as it was the only one that didn’t contain sugar. However in realty, it’s sweet as candy!! Not your Skippy variety, but like eating a sugary dessert. With an ingredients label that says only: “Whole peanuts, oil, salt” (ok the nondescript “oil” had me worried), it’s wrong to put this out on the shelf without even mentioning the maybe 20% sugar content.

Tip: the only clean and natural PB I found in Philippines was in the Dumaguete fresh market. There’s a peanut lady there who grinds her own, and while she sells a salt/sugar added variety, she also has without. The market is huge, but she’s in a building with only fruits, just north of the old clock tower.
