We’ve been back to Ireland for my father in law 90th birthday recently and on a cold and dreary morning went to Butlers in Bray for a hot drink. Apparently as soon as you leave Italy you can’t find a decent cappuccino. The concept of cappuccino is really easy: a shot of espresso topped with milk (soy in this case) FROATH. Not milk, milk froath. And yet what I got in this place, and usually in most places outside Italy, is a bucket full of long coffee with a ridiculously big quantity of incredibly hot milk and little froath on top. It took me ages to drink it because of the scalding temperature and the sheer volume of the milk. The only positive is that it came with a chocolate on the side. Also it was too expensive.
