Unsweetened Soy Milk by Silklansterm's Review (Jan 6, 2024)

This Silk Organic Unsweetened Soy Milk pretty much tastes like liquid tofu, but less earthy and more sweet in a way. It’s a bit creamy but not overly creamy. I really like cooking my morning oats in half water and half soy milk. It gives the oatmeal a nice creaminess. It’s also great with dry cereal like vegan granola. I’ve also used it in many recipes, including baked goods. When I drink it by itself though it kind of leaves a phlegmy type feeling in my throat and back of my mouth. I don’t know why. Not very pleasant.

If I were to choose a plant based milk based on taste I would choose something like oat milk or almond milk, but I don’t drink soy milk because it’s my favorite tasting plant milk out there. I drink it because it’s the healthiest and most nutritious of the bunch. The carton has a simple yet pleasant design. The background is a dark aquamarine, with mostly white text. The certifications on the carton include, USDA Organic, Non GMO Project Verified, and B Corporation. The carton is also made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Mix Board. The back of the carton has text describing different methods Silk uses to protect our planet, including water restoration programs, using renewable energy, and making products that emit less carbon. The the text on one side includes nutrition facts, ingredients, and how to recycle the carton.

My mother spent $3.86 on this product at Walmart.

Overall, a pretty tasty, nutritious, vegan, environmentally friendly product that I def recommend!
