Chai at Deli Devi — Tessa's Review (Dec 29, 2023)

A super sad #chai experience. This chai was served in a nice big mug but that was the only thing nice about it. I don't know what kind of milk they used but it was goopy and slimy and separating, it was so unappetising and I tried a few sips and that was more than enough.

It was so disgusting my friend tried it and urged me to say something. Regretfully I tried and the owner came and wanted to have a long winded debate about it, insisted it was perfect, took the chai back and refused to make another or anything else instead and then invited me to order another drink and pay full price 🫠

Awkward and repelling experience, I won't be ordering any more drinks here unfortunately. I'm sad too because I have been going here a lot and buying their stuff.
I had a similar experience happen in Bali recently when my drink was disgusting (the spices were mouldy) and the staff had a completely different attitude, they were grateful for the feedback and wanted to make me a drink that I enjoyed. Maybe it's because I'm American but I truly think that this guy's business will suffer because of his stubborness and unwillingness to listen to customers or make sure they are satisfied with their food. Because this chai was gross and I don't think it's just a matter of difference tastes.
