Smart Deli Ham by Lightlife — kyu's Review (Dec 23, 2023)

Not bad! This #veganham was shockingly cheap (just $0.89 due to impending best-by date,) so I felt I had nothing to lose by picking up a pack for this week’s lunches. I fixed a simple sandwich with this #fakemeat, mixed lettuce, and red pepper spread on whole-grain. The round #meatalternative slices fit perfectly on a slice of Dave’s thin-sliced bread (smaller dimensions than typical sandwich bread.) I thought I would dislike this product because I never liked ham to begin with, but it was decent! (As an aside, you’d think someone who despised ham, shrimp, or hot dogs as much as I did would’ve gotten the clue and dropped meat sooner…)

The slices are kind of bland, as mentioned in a few earlier reviews, but not off-puttingly so. They have a hint of #smoky-sweet flavor and aren’t too salty. Pretty good in the #protein department, 13g for 4 thin slices. I felt it was easier to neatly separate the slices compared to other brands. Ultimately, I moderately prefer the flavor of the Field Roast deli slices, but I enjoyed these vegan cold cuts nonetheless and would get them again on sale. #groceryoutletfinds
