I got this bottle of Nestle Nesquik from my sister. She was going to throw it out simply because it was past its best before date. I cringe at the thought of waste, so I offered to take it. Best before dates are guidelines; they don’t mean ‘no good after …’.

I wouldn’t normally buy this product partially because I don’t think Nestlé is a good corporate citizen, and partially because there is no nutritional benefit to chocolate syrup. Admittedly, it does taste good, but it is loaded with sugar. It goes well as a topping on fruit and plant-based ice cream.

Regarding the ingredients, Red 40, Blue 1 and Yellow 6 seem mysterious. Who knows what these are? I did verify that all 3 mysterious ingredients are vegan.

I wouldn’t pay for this product because of my tainted view of Nestle.
