The Plant Based Seafood Co - Mind Blown

I never had non-vegan crab cakes so I cannot attest to the similarities, but I can state that these were pretty tasty and definitively fishy!

I don’t get creeped out by meat dupes often but these were so fishy they were a little eyebrow raising. The texture was great; the sides got nice and crispy and the inside was tender.

I was lucky to grab these for only $.99 when Sprouts was clearing them out. I wish I had purchased more than one pack! They are no longer sold anywhere near me, but it appears as they typically go for $12-15 online which is way out of my budget.

I do think folks who really enjoyed seafood would be satisfied with these.

kyu How do these compare to the Omni crab cakes/Good Catch? (if you can recall) 1 likeReply
beckyyy These ones are a lot larger than the Omni ones. Those ones are smaller and get crispier. These were two big boys and remained softer inside. They are both pretty fishy and both good! I think the Omni are probably easier to find in stores, as perhaps Good Catch too. I really enjoy the New England style Good Catch ones as the seasoning is so tasty. Those are fishy too but I think this one may be the fishiest. I think if they were all priced the same I’d probably go w the Good Catch or Omni but these would be good if you’re looking for a large, thick crab cake that’s really fishy! 1 likeReply
kyu I have a soft spot for crab-cake-style products so I felt like I had to get all the details! This is super helpful, thank you :-)1 likeReply
beckyyy Sure thing! I think the Gardein ones were the only others I’ve tried and I’ve not had them for a long time but remember they are like tiny appetizers. I never tried the TJs ones but they’ve been sent to the land of discontinued products 1 likeReply
