It’s really too bad Italian restaurants are so vegan unfriendly, regardless of whether it’s deliberate or not. Vivo Pizza + Pasta has wonderful dishes, but plant-based cheese and meat are not on the menu and not available as substitutions. I had to order my Primavera Pizza without cheese, but they were kind enough to add Kalmata olives as a topping in lieu of the cheese.

So this freshly baked pizza had zucchini, eggplant, roasted red peppers and caramelized onions (just like Pasta Primavera), plus my requested Kalmata olives. To make things a little interesting, I drizzled a bit of spicy oil on top. This pizza was absolutely fantastic even without any cheese. 

All pizzas at Vivo are $21. The food here is great if you’re not a vegan. And it would be greater if it made a bit of effort to offer some vegan items on the menu. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly.
