My first time having tofu as a sweet dish has been in Japan. I liked the soft slightly chewy texture and the soy flour bring a nice toasted nutty texture. I thought the green tea syrup was overwhelming and too strong for my liking. This 4 cube portion was 400 yen which is a little less than $4CAD

If you are traveling with a group of plant based individuals, I don't recommend going to Nishiki market as it's 95% seafood and the sights and smells can be overwhelming. I was travelling with my husband who eats meat.

After reading a few vegan blogs on Nishiki market, I want to note that apparently their soy milk ice cream and donuts do contain dairy.
