I went to the main grocery store here in East Hampton, NY (Stop & Shop) and browsed through the store looking for a vegan snack. It wasn’t easy but I found these granola bars. The company name, Junkless Foods, caught my eye.
These are absolutely delicious and, again, it’s a product that you would not know is vegan judging by taste. There is nothing that’s tastes ‘off’ or different than it should.
The ingredient list is pretty impressive. As it clearly states on the box, there aren’t any hydrogenated oils, high fructose, corn syrup, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives - all the crap that shouldn’t be in food. And the sugar level is quite low (half the sugar of a medium sized banana). Unless I’m mistaken, there isn’t anything nutritionally terrible about these granola bars.
I certainly don’t feel guilty having these. I wish these bars find their way into Toronto stores.
I think the bars were on sale for $2.89 or $3.89 US.
