Review of Soul Plated Platter at Go Smart Superfoods by gregcombs
This dish was amazing! Full of variety and flavor, it consisted of: 3 C's Mac & Cheeze, Coconut Collard Greens, BBQ Jackfruit Nugget, Smokey Apple Baked Beans, Beet Brisket, and Waffle.
The #veganmacncheese was creamy and flavorful, and though I’m usually not a big fan of #jackfruit, mostly due to the soft texture of ones I’ve had and the visual shredding weirds me out, it was very flavorful and texture much better than others I’ve tried. The #veganwaffle was a nice addition to offset the flavors, if needed, and they also have a jalapeño version, which I’m looking forward to trying!
The other three items were also delicious and flavorful versions I’ve never seen before with the #veganbakedbeans being chickpeas/garbanzo beans, hidden under the beet brisket in the pic, which I’ve never seen nor had elsewhere and when non-vegan friends asked what the “black stuff” was I could only reply “vegan yumminess” as it was and I didn’t know at the time what I was eating 😊
So I’d purchase each of the items individually, but what really WOW’d me was the ***Coconut Collard Greens!*** I’ve only started liking coconut in the last few years, but have always enjoyed different varieties of collared greens, but more of a side to compliment other flavors, but this variety/combo is amazing! I’m not sure if it’s common and I’ve been missing out all these years, but the first I’ve seen and tried and is a new favorite and luckily I’m pretty sure I saw sides of it in their case!
So, this review is getting out of hand and the price was reasonable at $18 for the size, not to mention a healthy, freshly prepared filling meal. Love the creations here and the focus on creating healthy meals. Was able to meet the owner, Susan, who is very passionate and knowledgeable about the correlation between food and health.
One of their recent social media posts says it best, “Go Smart Superfoods only creates Whole-Food Plant-Based, Gluten Free, Meat Free, Soy Free and Dairy Free meals…We love you and only want to provide nutritional meals to our guests.”
Their location is inside Raisin Rack, where they have a full kitchen in the back, counter service for hot fresh meals, and cold display of prepared grab -and-go full meals, as well as numerous sides available, and there is also some limited seating.
