My 2 most favourite flavours of jam are probably strawberry jam and raspberry jam. On a recent shopping trip to No Frills, I arbitrarily opted for the strawberry jam. This jam does the job which is to complement and sweeten peanut butter. But it’s a bit too sweet; 1 tablespoon contains 10% of your day’s worth of sugar! I suppose this is not surprising considering the first ingredient is “sugars” (plural).
I don’t know how this jam’s sweetness compares to other jams, but there are certainly better tasting jams out there. No offence to No Name, but I prefer jams with chunks of fruit. I think PC strawberry jam has pieces of strawberries in it, but it was ridiculously priced. It’s ‘only’ jam, so I won’t pay too much of a premium for a preferred jam, so I chose No Name solely based on price.
Next time, I’ll either get No Name raspberry jam or another brand’s strawberry jam (depending on price).
