I helped organise a Pride event in Peel that was held yesterday. I was on the working group for food, so of course I advocated to only serve vegan food! Why let some beings be oppressed when we're fighting against oppression? So, most people agreed and that's what we did. I ordered #yves 7 inch hot dogs, #beyondmeat burgers, vegan and gluten-free burger buns, and we had regular Dempsters buns, Old Dutch #chips (S&V, plain, BBQ), #fritos Hoops, and Allen's juice boxes... and water of course! So many people were grateful they could eat everything available and most non-veg people said they wouldn't have known it was vegan. (They knew because I told everyone, asked about allergies, AND we had allergen cards out for everything!) These dogs were great on the #barbecue and they're pretty #filling (or was that heat exhaustion? 😬😅) The only complaint I heard was that they were too big for small kids. Overall, a successful day! 🌱🌱

Damnnn that’s so lucky!!! I have tried suggesting to serve more vegan food at my youth movement center
But they are very much against vegan, also because it is more expensive often ☹️☹️
I bring my own food.
