A colleague gave me these #hawflakes. My first thought was that it is some kind of flaky spice, but it is not. It is candy.
It is Chinese sweets made from the fruit of the Hawthorn.
It is like a fruit roll but just a bit drier. It has the colour of a guava roll.
I think Asian shop might have these, but I won't buy them.

We used to eat tons of these as kids. Recently saw them again and was excited but they tasted dry and meh. Not sure what my childhood self saw in them.
I’ve had guava roll before but not these. Interesting!
So interesting - never even knew these existed. Haven’t seen them (and I shop a lot in Asian stores!) Will look out for them - for the novelty, if not for the taste
