Sneaky Balm by Salt NYOlga's Review (Jul 11, 2023)

I recently discovered an amazing company called Salt NY.

I usually gravitate towards tinted moisturizers rather than full coverage foundations. I've been in the market for a new product, but I wanted it to not only look good, but also be good for my skin, and also be from a company that I feel good about supporting. And I think I found it!

First here's a little bit about the company.
Salt NY is a small, indie company founded by a woman named Kiki, who used to be a makeup artist in film.

All their products are vegan! None of their ingredients are tested on animals, they don't allow third party testing, and they don't sell to countries that require animal testing. All this is obviously non-negotiable.

But they also care about the environment and they are zero waste. So none of their products are packaged in plastic!
Everything comes in a recyclable tin and a little cardboard sleeve. They also sell zippered, magnetic palette cases that you can buy and use over and over again.

This is from their website:
"We designed this system to be as good for the planet as it is for your face. We spent months talking to recycling experts, and researching all the ways we could deliver these precious square babies to y'all without compromising our standards. We landed on simple envelopes that are both recyclable and made from post consumer recycled paper."

They don't have a huge line of products. They sell a product called Sneaky Balm, which is a tinted balm. They also have a lip & cheek stain, bronzers & contours, and highlighters. All of these are offered in a nice range of colors, though.
All of their products are hand poured in NYC, and are "chock full of nourishing, hydrating, credit score raising ingredients like pomegranate, jojoba, & grape seed oils, and contain absolutely zero nonsense ingredients like talc, fragrance, or mineral oil."

The sneaky balm is exactly what the name implies. It goes on incredibly sheer, and buttery soft, so I can still see my skin through it. All the products just simply melt into the skin and blend beautifully. They even everything out, take down any redness, and give the skin a porcelain-like finish. Seriously, it looks like I have nothing on my face. They also leave a very dewy glow, without any glitter or sparkles!

So even though I was technically only shopping for the tinted moisturizer, they were having a great sale on the pallets and bundles, so I got all excited and I ended up buying the small pallet.
I think the sale is still going on, and you can also use the promo code I found - HANNAHLOUISE - for an additional 10% off.

Each little tin is $16. I don't know how long the balm will last, but I am betting that it will be a long time before I need to buy any of the colors.

It seems like a fantastic company to support and I highly recommend them!
