Nature's Bakery

When I first stated my plant based journey in 2013; it began with reading a book called “The Engine 2 Diet” by Rip Esselstyn. He had commented that he ate fig bars. That lead me to discovering Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars. One of the rules of “The Engine 2 Diet” is no oil. These dogs bars do have some canola oil in them, so they are not fully Engine 2 Diet compatible but they are Certified Vegan and Kosher.

I gave this product a lower rating in nutrition due to 19 grams of sugar. According to Yuka, which gave this product a “Good” rating with 51/100, it is a bit too sweet. I feel they are high in calories also.

Some good news is according the the Palm Oil app, this product has an Excellent rating on palm oil sustainability!

I like this because they are compact and easy to carry. Makes them ideal for having a food item on a hike or a bicycle ride. Personally, they are good and handy to have around.
