Review of Super Firm Smoked Tofu - Tofutown by beckyyy

I watched a lot of YouTube videos for vegan meal inspo when I first went vegan. A product I saw come up regularly, mainly from Canadian YouTubers was smoked tofu. It always sounded so good but I could never find it here. GTFO recently had a sale with shipping discount so I purchased a pack, as I had seen it on their site.

The package comes with two smoked tofu blocks. I used one, cut it in half the long way, heated and ate in a banh mi style sandwich with spicy mayo, cilantro, jalapeño, pickled daikon and carrot and cucumber.

It was quite smoky, and quite good! Even though I cut the block in half it was still a bit thick and a little dry but the spicy Mayo helped. It is a tasty and interesting product. I enjoyed it in the sandwich but think it would work well in a variety of dishes. It could act as a ham replacement, or perhaps work well as a BBQ shredded pork if shredded and cooked with BBQ sauce. It would probably be nice cubed and thrown on a salad or bowl with a grain and some corn.

I won’t go out of my way to order it online frequently as I can only afford to do that once in a while but if I did find it locally I would repurchase often.
