I got this item from The Healthy Planet Super-store.
Taste-wise it was between good & excellent but it wasn’t "spicy" the way it was labelled side by side with their non-spicy version of the same. I wish it was a little bit more solid texture inside (not a Big deal but) and had the taste of all spice seasoning which I came to learn is usually a main ingredient for Jamaican patties. I won't anyway say that it was bad though. But this much adjustments will make a Huge difference in taste. Nutrition wise, it's excellent source of protein, potassium, calcium, iron, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12 and Magnesium. So from that angle, it's not a waste of money. There is also a big amount of carbohydrates but that's the nature of the recipe for it to taste the way it does.
I was badly looking for a vegan version of the Jamaican patties (beef and chicken) we usually get from the Subway stations but sadly they don't carry any. So I was really glad to find what I was really looking for. Now I wish that it becomes more accessible. It's double the price of the regular version which is like 2 bucks. Still a good product is worth spending on and we should create more demand for it. I miss the days we got these hot straight from the cafeteria on the journey but I will not buy their non-veg items anymore. Even with spending a little more, this is the one that needs to go up! 👌🏾
