Months ago before #chinesenewyear came around š§§ and another time at my friendās place! š” One of the more odd things I love about this #gongbao / #kungpao rendition is that itās less #spicy than most š«¢ Iāll explain.. š Instead of betting on the #mala or even attempting to cater to a market that either canāt take any heat or absolutely depends on it, this one focuses on texture and #umami 𤤠I love #fritters and #monkeyheadmushroom - combining the two is definitely the way to my heart! š« Especially if itās going to pack this much grease! š They stand out by packing more than just the bare essentials. Tonnes of vegetables so evenly coated in their artery clogging sauce! From a sample size of 2 the vegetables this is stir-fried with seem to change ie. the glaring omission of cashews the second time around, but taste-wise youād really be none-the-wiser. Easily one of my faves in a restaurant with banger after banger š
