Guys! The Hungry Tapir crew have opened up a specialist all-vegan bakery a stone's throw away, inside the Four Points by Sheraton. The place looks stunning and there is a real variety of seating options, from standard sit-down tables to long bars for singles to perches on the steps of the terraces (see 2nd picture). Most upmarket vegan businesses in Malaysia shutter within 6 months but I really really hope these guys will survive 🥺

Now, in order to do that, they need to sort out their menu. They have more cocktail than coffee options, but they close at 5pm 😏 There are only 3 hot meals that are substantial enough to be considered lunch items, but they open only in time for brunch 😐 And some of the micro design also doesn't make too much sense: this #croissant comes with a default selection of cream cheeze and herbed oil on the side, and you have to top up for either blueberry jam or vegan Nutella (I did the former for RM2). Why not just offer a choice of any 1 or 2 in the original price, so that people who cannot countenance savoury over sweet breakfasts (🙋‍♂️) don't end up with more dips than they would ever be able to stuff into one croissant? (Not too mention, blueberry jam with basil and rosemary, anyone ever tried that? 😵)

The #pastry was crispy, light, and flavourful. Easily as good as plant-based gets in this country 🙂
