Review of Salted caramel cookie dough - Plant Kitchen (M&S) by jondread

These cookies look good, they have a great texture, they're crispy and chewy where it counts especially when hot out of the oven, but.....there is this horrendous aftertaste of dish soap. I have a suspicion that this is xantham gum which is used as a thickener, because I have also tasted this soapy taste in some "steak" style alternative fillets, especially the cheap ones from ASDA. The strange thing is that I tried these cookies before on Christmas day and didn't detect any of the soapy flavour, but I was also very intoxicated at that time......but after eating them again and having them taste like that I can't recommend them. I wish M&S would just offer a frozen cookie dough option instead of having some long-life pseudo fresh cookie dough with 17 different ingredients in it. Only got these because the chocolate chunk ones in the bakery were out of stock, which are far superior in my opinion.
