Gardein

With all these positive reviews, I am in the minority because of the fennel flavor. I have never been a fan of anise-flavor a.k.a. licorice…not even fennel’s mild version.
I belatedly remembered I bought them before and I had to eat the whole bag myself because they’re too spicy for my mom; they have red pepper flakes. I like spicy, but that fennel…I cut them up into small pieces in dishes to disguise the flavor.

I cooked them right in some sauce and I liked the texture so would would try a similar product of a different flavor profile, but I am definitely remembering now not to buy these again.

While a bummer about the plastic package, Gardein acknowledges it with the howtorecycle.info link. Plastic bags are not able to be put in general household recycling in my mom’s town.
