Crispy Sesame BBQ Fried Rice on Hotplate at Welcome Chinese Vegetarian Cafe — tracy's Review (Feb 1, 2023)

This dish came out 🔥 sizzling and was topped with BBQ sauce. For some reason I was expecting something like mock pork, actually the soy protein tasted much more like battered fish, particularly with the lining of nori sheets that mimicked crisped fish skin quite well. As for the fried rice - I love fried 🍚! This was a regular size but you can order a larger one. It was one dish from the dedicated Ⓥegan menu of this vegetarian eatery. Like a lot of places in Riccarton, the building looked quite worn, but it’s the food that matters most and I would happily come back. 😊
