Review of Korean-Style BBQ Chik’n - Sweet Earth by kyu
Pretty good! I love that this chik’n isn’t breaded — nothing against nugget-type products, but I can only eat so many. To me, the seasoning definitely tasted like BBQ, though not particularly Korean. I’ll probably whip up a marinade for the remaining strips to improve their flavor. With regard to texture, it seemed better when I allowed the shreds to cool slightly before serving: I often find #mockmeat chicken a bit too soft, but these firmed up and developed a nice, chewy bite. I actually liked them best straight out of the fridge (ah, the convenience of fully cooked!); they’d probably make an amazing chik’n salad sandwich with the addition of some vegan mayo! I just wish they were a little less expensive. Made not so far away, in the coastal community of Moss Landing, CA.
