Review of affettato vegetale gusto speck - Valsoia by gingersaint

🇬🇧 For those who doesn’t know, speck is a sort of typical bacon from South Tyrol, but appreciated across whole nation (and abroad too I guess).
This vegetal cold cut is sort of a replica or, better, a wannabe replica simply because good try yes but we’re not even close to the original but I’m not gonna complain, important here is to give a try to all these alternatives to convince companies in investing more and more on the vegetal sector (IMHO).
I prefer self-producing my “meats” at home but I know I have nor the machinery, nor all ingredients required to get a similar result so I buy these products every now and then half curiosity and other half for studying and replicate them by myself.
Not bad at all, texture is not excessively rubbery, thickness is pretty good after all - original speck is slightly thinner and usually has more fat -, one of those grab n’ go things to have in your fridge If you’re in a hurry or simply not in the mood for cooking.

🇮🇹 Pur essendo un’autoproduttrice convinta, conosco i miei limiti perché pur con tutto l’impegno, chiaramente non ho a disposizione né i macchinari né tutti gli ingredienti in precisa grammatura necessari per raggiungere il risultato delle preparazioni industriali.
Diciamo che li compro 50% per curiosità e 50% per studiarli e capire fino a che punto riesco a spingermi con le mie repliche senza necessariamente riempire la dispensa di metilcellulosa e lattato di calcio.
Non male questo affettato vegetale gusto speck, la consistenza è buona, non eccessivamente gommosa, lo spessore delle fette relativamente giusto (visivamente manca la parte del grasso, quindi alla vista ricorda forse più una bresaola), il sapore lo ricorda - chiaramente non è uguale -, insomma, una di quelle cosette da avere in frigo per un panino al volo invece delle verdure grigliate.
Ci sta, per me è promosso.
