I’ve often wondered why the Buddha bowl was named so. In any case, I really enjoyed this dish. Here we had a really tasty celeri décliné, a chickpea steak, a serve of spiced hummus, couple pieces of vegan calamari, some more celeriac cubes and a refreshing salad with avocado, and with bread to accompany (not pictured). It was a really substantial and tasty meal, and provided me with plenty fuel for a long long bicycle ride after.
Fully vegan restaurant in Lunel. Starters, mains and desserts, all prepared with love. You can opt for meal deals too. Note that they update their menu every week, so this post is more of a teaser as to what you can expect from the le ver(y)table team (check their socials/website for the weekly menu). Food is somewhat pricey, but well tasty.

Wiki says “It may originate from presenting a balanced meal, where balance is a key Buddhist concept,[3] from the story of Buddha carrying his food bowl to fill it with whatever bits of food villagers would offer him,[7] to the explanation of the overstuffed bowl resembling the belly of Budai, a 10th-century Chinese monk often confused with Buddha.[8]”
Haven’t checked if the references hold up 😂
