Review of Veggies Yassa at AKADI PDX by knorthway
I finally had the pleasure of visiting Akadi at their new SE location since moving from NE MLK St. The new space is big with lots of light. ☀️ All of their hanging plants are beautiful. 🌱 Akadi’s vegan West African dish known as Veggies Yassa is my most favorite vegan dish they offer. It consists of zucchini, sweet potato or possibly carrot (?) 🥕 🍠 , regular potato 🥔, and caramelized onions, all cooked in a mustard sauce and served with rice. If you want to change the rice to fufu it costs $3. The mustard sauce is hard to describe, but it’s sooo incredibly tasty with a comforting flavor (it’s nothing like yellow mustard). This was probably my 3rd or 4th time eating this, and I did notice that the sauce was much less generous than past times, but this still hit the spot nonetheless.
