
I recently learned that I’m gluten & soy intolerant but am fine with rye & barley. I’m a huge bread lover so the hunt is on for a new vegan bread that doesn’t break the bank (seriously some loaves in stores near me are $9 whaaaat). So this was only $2.50 and I thought I’d give it a shot!
It definitely has a strong rye flavor which is slightly sour to me. It’s pretty dry and the slices are super thin and long. It’s okay toasted with some butter or pesto, and is great for veggie sandwiches with lots of wet ingredients (hummus, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc) to combat the dryness of the bread. I love that there are no preservatives in here but that means you have to est it quickly. I think I’ll still shop around for other breads but know this is an okay option.
