Part of the toothbrush head with the bristles is the only part that needs to be replaced. The head has bacloc which helps prevent some of the nastiness that grows in the bathroom. I actually like this toothbrush quite a bit. I stopped using my electric toothbrush for this one. My mouth feels clean and my teeth have gotten noticably whiter.
