#locallysourced, #organic

It was a beautiful Saturday for lunch on the patio. I love True Food, but it's just a little bit too pricey for an everyday lunch but perfect for special occasions.

We got two dishes, one being the house- made #vegan Double Cheese Burger. The patty is made from portobello, walnuts and beets and it's served with lettuce, pickled onion, organic tomato, vegan cheddar, Jalapeño remoulade on a flaxseed bun. The patty was grainy, but I personally prefer that over the texture of fake burger meats. You can choose your side: Kale Salad or sweet potato hash!

True Food Kitchen uses consciously- sourced seasonal ingredients and menu items are based on anti-inflammatory foods. The founder is actually Dr. Andrew Weil who specializes in integrative medicine.

(I will disagree with him on meats though, grass-fed or not, meat is highly acidic to the human body as we do not naturally possess the enzymes to break it down efficiently and in a way that eliminates it from the body before it starts producing toxins) Gotta love that Anthropological sciences degree!
