Our love affair with Italian food is long-term. In 1965, a wise man called Peter Boizot knew pizza in London could be better. So he shipped over an authentic oven from Italy, opened the first-ever PizzaExpress and got to work serving the great pizza the UK deserved.

I love, love, love, this pizza. The spicy jackfruit pepperoni is so good. On this occasion they allowed me to order it with the thinner Romana crust and I ate the whole thing in one sitting.  NB: If you look closely, there is a single piece of yellow bell pepper on the pizza. Someone told me they do this to differentiate the vegan pizzas to make it easier for the servers who are grabbing them from the kitchen. If true, how clever!
