#organic

RM23 for #nasilemak is not to be scoffed at but I think for what you’re getting, it’s beyond worth it 💰 The homemade #sambal is the star of the show here, beats any other vegan sambals I’ve had in Penang. The #tofu cakes were interesting too, deep-fried. They resembles egg so much it was uncanny, though my #significantomnivore begs to differ 🤭 Also deep-fried, but even more crispy, were those #mushroom crisps you see at 9 o’clock 🍄 They were just oozing with flavour and umami, perhaps to fill in and quite frankly succeed the anchovies you’d get in omnivorous nasi lemak. The yardlong beans were coated in a different, less sweet, sambal and the #tempeh I’m both glad and sad to report, were the weakest part of this dish. All that tied together with blue coconut rice 🍚, the product of cooking rice with butterfly pea flowers (bunga telang) 🦋 This dish hit every note right, it gets a recommendation from me 😋 #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease #malaysianeats
