Fish n Chips at ROOTS at the beach — simplyhan's Review (Oct 3, 2021)

Eek, oh I hate to give a negative review, but I also like to be honest…

This is the battered banana blossom and chips from Roots at the Beach.

I’ve had banana blossom before, so I knew what to expect but, for some reason, eating this particular one was like eating one of those plastic scourers you can get for doing dishes. It tasted like I was getting a mouthful of fluff with each bite. Made my stomach churn. The batter was lovely, though!

The chips were sadly very over cooked and tasted insipid and burnt.

I think I must have paid between £7 - £9 for this but unfortunately couldn’t eat it.

Roots, otherwise, serves fantastic burgers, so I’ll definitely go back; just not on fish n chip night!
