Earthshine

Sorry for the poor photo quality, but it was late at night šŸ™ˆ

Iā€™m not a huge fan of the name, but my curiosity got the better of me so I bought it to add to hubbyā€™s birthday treat stash šŸ˜„

We were both VERY pleasantly surprised by this! Reminded us of mushroom biltong, but itā€™s made of carrots šŸ„• who knew carrots were so versatile?! A very nice savoury snack, and Iā€™m keen to try out the other ā€˜flavoursā€™.

ecobunnyĀ How would you rate it as a facon, though? I've been wanting to try it but it's always out of stock where I am.1 likeReply
tazĀ Itā€™s not what I would call ā€˜faconā€™.. itā€™s not intended to cook with or anything like that.. itā€™s seasoned, dried carrot to eat as a snack. It tasted more like a crispy kind of biltong to me, than bacon. (Which Iā€™m totally happy with šŸ˜ƒ)1 likeReply
ecobunnyĀ Aah. 'Because it says Bacon, I thought it was a fake one.Reply
tazĀ Yeah the name is pretty misleading šŸ™ˆ itā€™s really good, though! Hope you get to try it šŸ˜Ž1 likeReply
ecobunnyĀ Definitely!Reply
EarthshineĀ Oh dear, where is that please?Reply
EarthshineĀ Happy you really liked it!! Yes this is a snack, not for cooking. Curious why the name was interpreted as misleading, very much not our intention!!!1 likeReply
tazĀ Hi there šŸ‘‹ I read the description of the product and understood it was a snack, but the word ā€˜baconā€™ could be interpreted as something one would cook and eat warm - like a fake-meat alternativeā€¦ the ā€˜faconā€™ ecobunny was referring to. I think ā€˜dried carrot biltongā€™ would be a more apt description of the product, but thatā€™s just my opinion šŸ™‚my reason for disliking the name is just a personal dislike for the word ā€˜baconā€™ which is a euphemism for pig šŸ· and disconnects people from who they are eating when they eat ā€˜baconā€™. I guess ā€˜biltongā€™ is equally problematic, but nowadays vegetable biltong is more and more common šŸ˜…1 likeReply
tazĀ P.S. I really enjoyed this product, and the others Iā€™ve tried in your range! I would gladly recommend them to anyone. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my reviews and hope my feedback has not caused offense šŸ’š 1 likeReply
