Review of Plantbased Whopper at Burger King Table View (Drive-thru) by laurenkinghorn

Wow, what a fabulous surprise! I was super impressed with the new plant-based WHOPPER®  at Tableview Burger King. I agreed to try it out to humour my hubby and son, who are crazy about BK.

We were told I was the first person to order one because it officially launches here in South Africa this Wednesday (15 Sep 2021).

Although it states on the Burger King website that this burger is not vegan because they use their standard mayo which contains egg and milk, we requested the creamy vegan mayo and were assured this whopper was vegan.

The patty is mostly soy protein with some wheat protein and starch (all non-GMO) with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

It's nearly 1 year since I went plant-based so it's not that long ago since I had the original beef whopper. Personally, I preferred the taste of this vegan burger to the meaty version.

My taste buds have definitely changed since going plant-based and I hardly ever eat fast food these days because I eat as little processed food as possible. For food that tastes this good, I will make an exception from time to time. Especially as it means I get to eat with the family again.

Looking forward to trying out BK's Vegan Royale next.
