Had a birthday lunch out at the weekend at Samphire, one of the Orocco Pier resturants in South Queensferry.

I had the charred cauliflower bao buns with gochujang ketchup, cracked peanuts and pickled vegetables to start.

The cauliflower filling was delicious, very spicy and messy to eat as there was a lot of sauce but it was totally worth it. It was good having excess sauce to mop up with the bao buns. The peanuts added a nice crunch and the pickled vegetables complemented the spicy sauce perfectly. The buns were a tiny bit chewy rather than pillowy and soft which would be my only minor criticism. I'd definitely recommend these.
