What's a sushi kitchen doing selling #penang #kuayteow? Good question, I don't know 😏 The chain has its roots in Penang, but still.

I've never had vegan kuey teow outside of Penang that's tasted fully like the real thing 😔 And it's not to do with the lard; hawkers in Penang are capable of something the others just aren't 😐 This one was pleasingly spicy (I went for the medium level, the third of four), but just lacked that complexity in the aftertaste.

RM12. Ingredients: sliced mushroom; bean sprouts; scrambled tofu bits. I added my own fried nuggets, just in shot 😛
