Review of Akamaru 1.0 (4th May- 30th Jun 21) at IPPUDO Raffles City by simhazel

It’s been a while since I had anything from IPPUDO - that was when I wasn’t on a vegan diet. There’s a new seasonal vegan ramen offering from IPPUDO from 4th May to 30th June! 🍜 $16.85 at all outlets, $18.85 at MBS. They took their signature creamy broth ramen, Akamaru and made it vegan with probably the first ever “chashu” produced by a local plant-based nutrition company Growthwell Foods.

The ramen noodles are eggless and whole wheat. The broth was thick with a soy milk base, their original kaeshi soy sauce and porcini mushroom oil. I can’t help but thinking of the possibilities that can come after this, maybe a spicy ramen please? Nonetheless a promising venture for this big ramen chain. #abillionturns3
