Taco Salad at ionie Retreat and Organic Raw Food Cafe — maryannkiger's Review (Apr 27, 2021)

All dishes at this cafe are vegan and raw food as well. The “meat” of the Taco Salad is a Brazil Nut creation that was delicious. The dressing is a rich, thick, sauce-like topping from cashews. The heavy dressing/sauce makes it a filling dish but do not expect the nut-meat mixture to be taco-like. It was delicious, but not at all spicy nor Mexican-dish-flavored like one would expect. A beautiful dish that is substantial enough for a meal. Bonus points for wooden utensils and biodegradable packaging. The lid is Vegware; a plastic made from plants. If you are in Sarasota near the end of Fruitville Road near the bridge, I recommend trying this salad. Non-vegans will love it, too. Excellent flavor.
