According to staff no dairy in this yay! This was a pretty delicious fried oily meal haha. The bread is so crispy and yummy and went well with the chana masala. I tried to eat all the onions and it was a bit too much 🙈 not too spicy too, I didn't touch the green chillies. $7.70. #veganin2020

pahulnotpaul I LOVE Bhattura 🤤🤤 but they’re pretty unhealthy (it’s a huge fried ball that’s as big as a basketball hahaha) so it’s mostly an occasional treat. 2 likesReply
herbimetal Yeah I find a lot of Indian food pretty unhealthy. What are some healthier ones?1 likeReply
pahulnotpaul Actually a lot of the Indian foods sold in restaurants/eateries tend focus more on flavour often at the expense of nutrition. Which is why people love the taste but see it as unhealthy because the cooks will use a lot of cream/butter/ghee to enrich the flavour. But when these same items are cooked at home for daily consumption, it’s more healthy and nutritious as well as less heavy on the digestive system. Even Indians that eat at Indian restaurants only do it occasionally as a treat cuz it’s so rich and makes u drink lots of water afterwards 😂 if you’re eating out at a (North) Indian place, try to go for things like Hara Bhara Kebab (green veggie kebab), chickpea & spinach curry, Saag (made from green leafy veg), Baigan Bharta (mashed roasted eggplant), yellow dal and swap out the naan for the tandoori/plain roti as it’s made from wholemeal flour rather than refined.
